Independent advocacy · Homeowners first

You keep the plans · We stay builder-neutral · Your time stays yours

Your pool. Your plans. Competitive bids.

We represent you—not builders. Independent design, one technical spec every bid answers to, and a managed process so you get clarity and leverage—not another sales funnel.

Illustrative outcome from comparable projects: homeowners have averaged about $8,400 in savings versus going builder-direct—markets and scopes vary; not a promise of results.

Fit-first: we only recommend next steps when we believe we can help. See the guarantee.

Serving homeowners nationwide

Phoenix · Austin · Orlando · Houston · and growing metros across the U.S. Independent advocacy; not affiliated with any single builder.

We specialize in fiberglass and gunite (concrete) pools—the segment where independent plans and comparable bids matter most. Vinyl liner projects are typically a different buying pattern; we are usually not the right fit for those.

The problem

Buying a pool is broken.

The default path rewards whoever sells hardest—not your budget, your timeline, or an apples-to-apples comparison.

Builder lock-in

When the builder owns the plans, shopping the job means starting over.

Hidden margin

Sales and marketing overhead are often folded into the quote you see.

Incomparable bids

Different specs make “lowest price” meaningless.

Wasted time

Weeks of meetings that still do not produce a fair comparison.

Process

From discovery to award

Step 01

Discovery call

Free

Vision, constraints, and budget—so we can be honest about fit before you commit.

Step 02

Architectural design

You own the plans

3D and construction-ready drawings you can take to any qualified builder.

Step 03

Unified bid sheet

One technical specification so every bid reflects the same scope and quality bar.

Step 04

Competitive bidding

We run it

Vetted builders, technical Q&A, and a clean process—without you living in sales calls.

Step 05

Award & build

You choose on price, reputation, and schedule—with leverage already on your side.

The old way

  • Builder retains your design files.
  • High-touch sales and artificial urgency.
  • Quotes that are not comparable line-by-line.
  • Commission and overhead embedded in price.

The PoolBidder way

  • You own the design. Shop the job credibly.
  • One advocate; less noise, fewer meetings.
  • Universal specs protect quality and comparability.
  • Competition without cutting scope to win on paper.

Outcomes & homeowner feedback

Anonymized snapshots of how engagements tend to unfold—your project will have its own facts and timeline.

Southwest · New build

Three quotes, three scopes

Builders could not be compared line-by-line; the lowest bid was not actually the same pool.

We delivered a unified bid sheet and technical Q&A; the homeowner advanced with five aligned bids and a clear award path.

Central Texas · Remodel-adjacent

Mid-process friction

The family needed to switch builders after bids came in unevenly.

Because they owned the design through us, they changed contractors without paying to redraw from scratch.

Gulf Coast · Second home

Limited bandwidth

The owners could not be on-site for every sales meeting.

We ran the bid cycle and documentation review so they could decide on price, reputation, and schedule from a single comparable stack.

James S. Phoenix, AZ
“Three quotes, three scopes. The bid sheet finally made comparison possible.”
Michelle D. · Austin
“Owning our design let us switch builders mid-bidding without losing time.”
Robert K. · Orlando
“Best money we spent on the house—it paid back immediately.”
Linda W. · Houston

FAQ

Common questions

Why not go straight to a builder?
You can—but margin and commissions are often embedded. When you arrive with independent plans and specs, builders know you can compare, which pulls pricing toward a competitive baseline.
Do you build the pool?
No. We are independent advocates—we do not construct pools and we do not act as a builder’s agent.
Do you take referral fees, rebates, or commissions from builders?
No. We are compensated by you for design and advocacy work, not by steering you to a particular contractor. That is core to how we represent your interests. See also our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for how we handle information.
How do you choose which builders receive the bid package?
We shortlist qualified builders for your market and scope—licensing, capacity, and fit for fiberglass or gunite work as applicable. You stay in control of who is invited; our job is to keep the process technical and comparable, not to favor a single brand.
What do I get in writing before I pay for design?
The discovery call is free and used to confirm fit. Before you commit to paid design, we explain what deliverables you will receive (e.g. drawings, bid sheet structure, review steps) and how engagement works—so you can decide with clear expectations. Details are covered in your Terms and any project-specific agreement.
Who owns the design files and plans?
You do—subject to your agreement with us and license terms for any third-party components. The point of our process is that you can shop the job credibly because the documentation is yours to use with the builders you select.
Do you work on vinyl liner pools?
We focus on fiberglass and gunite (concrete) pools. Vinyl liner pools are often a different price point and buying pattern; we typically do not take those projects so we can devote our process to scopes where independent design and bid comparison move the needle.
What if I already have a sketch?
We can use it as the starting point for technical plans that support accurate, comparable bids.
How long does the process take?
Roughly 5–7 days for an initial design pass and about two weeks to first bids—market dependent.
